How records are matched to places
- Source state, district and block names are matched to the location directory.
- Schools are linked to a village only when the shared location matcher returns an exact or automatically accepted match, using the village name and administrative hierarchy. School names alone are never treated as proof of location.
How counts are calculated
Counts include active records. UDISE and CBSE records are counted separately, so a school listed in both appears twice.
Known limitations
- Names are shown as recorded in the source, tidied for display; the official record name is shown on each school page.
- Not every school in UDISE+ has a matched village.
